It's Our Anniversary!

Exactly 28 years ago, Glen and Cyndy were married at the First United Methodist Church of Escondido, California! My, how time flies when you're having a great life!

We just want to celebrate our anniversary with you. Thank you for your prayers and support as we move ahead with this adoption!

Blessings to all!

God Provides!

We have great news! Some very close friends of ours told us that they are planning to give a substantial donation for our adoption in the next month. The amount of the donation will be more than enough to complete the dossier phase of the process, which is the very next step! We had been wondering (ok, worrying!) where the money would come from. We knew God had called us to this adoption, but we weren't sure where all of the money would be coming from. This phase is critical, as a delay in submitting the dossier means a delay in going to get the kids. Now we can go forward and hope for an early court date.

Jessica and Sam become available for adoption in mid August. Our plan (now that we have the funds) is to submit the dossier so that it is translated and ready for the Russian court in Penza the first day they are available. Hopefully, the court will set a court date in early October and we can begin to make plans for returning to Russia to bring our kids home!

Thank you to all who have been praying for us! And thank you for your generous donations. We are not fully funded, but we can proceed now with the dossier and the court date. We are also applying for some grant money. Keep praying!

Thank you, God, for your plentious provisions! We give Him all the glory!

We're Moved!

Well, we finally made it! We're in Chino, California in our new home and getting to know our new church family, Chino United Methodist Church!

We received a wonderful send-off from Tujunga UMC. They gave us a beautiful cake plate and a new Sony DVD camcorder!

Chino has welcomed us with open arms. We have a wonderful first Sunday (July 10) and reception lunch, complete with a rendition of "What We Expect of Our Pastor -- Chino Style!" with all kinds of puns about cows (apparently there is a distinctive "smell" to Chino that relates to all of the dairies that have been here). It was a lot of fun. Everyone is so nice. We are praying for a fruitful ministry here.

Our new home is lovely and the church has done everything they can to make us feel at home. They brought meals to us for the first five nights we were here! Now we are unpacking boxes and trying to create order out of chaos. It isn't easy to move when you haven't done it in 16 years!

Our new mailing address is: 12594 Monte Vista Ave., Chino, CA 91710. Drop us a line!

Blessings,

Glen and Cyndy

Last Tango in Tujunga!

Well, we are just about packed and ready. The movers come tomorrow (Saturday, July 9th) and off we go to Chino!

It really feels odd leaving a house we have lived in for 16 years. Only Glen has lived in one house longer (the house his parents still live in). A lot of memories (good and challenging!). Pray for us as we go.

As soon as we get settled in (and get internet), we'll post again and let you know how the new place feels!

Blessings,

Glen and Cyndy

We've Got the Home Study!

We received back from God's Families Adoption our approved home study! That means we can proceed now with applications for grant funds and completion of our dossier! Praise God!

We covet your prayers! We are moving to Chino on July 9th. Glen has already started his pastorate there, communting the 40 miles from Tujunga. But there are a million details still to work out. Consequently, we can't work on the adoption until after the move!

Glen is in New York (Syracuse) this weekend (July 2-4) performing the wedding for Andrew Book and Joy Daigle. Cyndy and Nathan are in Vista visiting Beth. And Katrina Brainerd (niece) is visiting from Georgia! Lots of stuff going on, so please pray with us.

We will need a miracle pretty quickly in order to secure the funds needed to complete this adoption. Please pray for that miracle! And don't forget that you can contribute to the adoption by making a tax deductible donation through our web site, www.haworthfamily.net.

Thanks to everyone!

Blessings,

Glen and Cyndy
