Making Progress

We are seeing medical specialists, one at a time, and have either seen or have appointments for all but the oncologist. We need to ask for prayers, because the Russian court has asked for an oncologist to certify that we are cancer free. In order to do that honestly, the oncologist will have to run many, many tests. And these tests are very expensive.

So, pray with us that the Russian court will accept the basic tests that have already been run on us, and that the letter from the oncologist certifying these basic tests will be sufficient.

We have send a revised form from our dossier with the names of Jessica and Sam specifically detailed. Our adoption agency is hoping that if we can get this form filed in Russia before any moratorium is imposed, we would still be approved to go ahead with the adoption. Pray for this. We don't want to wait a moment longer than we have to!

We are painting our house in preparation for bring Jessica and Sam home. It is getting close! Thank you to all who have called or written offering specific help. We have received an offer of frequent flyer miles and Target cards. We thank the Lord for all of your support and generosity. We are also applying for several grants from foundations that help with adoption expenses. So pray we will get enough in time to go to Russia as soon as the court can set a date!

Blessings,

We Are Approved for TWO!

We have received a REVISED approval from US Immigration (BCIS) specifying TWO children! That means we can proceed with the adoption of Jessica (Yulia) and Sam (Gena)!

All that remains are visits to medical specialists and letters of approval from them.

And, of course, the need for funds is great. We are doing all we can to put aside funds and we are working on grant proposals from agencies that help with adoptions. You prayers for their favor would be appreciated.

There are some new letters posted on the website. Check 'em out!

We are grateful for your support!

We Have BCIS Approval!

Our approval for international adoption from the US government (BCIS) came through! The only problem is that it is for just one child, and not two! An error of omission was made on the original BCIS form, and we are working hard to get the error fixed so we don't have to go through the whole process again.

Please pray that the BCIS will approve us for TWO children and will do so based on the home study, as submitted.

We are working on getting our letters of good health from the various medical specialists (the new requirements). So keep praying that all will fall into place there as well.

In the home stretch! We are trusting God for the funds to be there when we get all of the paper work in and submitted. Thank you for your support!

Don't forget that you can make tax-deductible contributions to our adoption effort through our website: http://www.haworthfamily.net.

Thank you!
