Here's a new picture of Yulia we just received. It is a little grainy, but it shows just how lovely our new daughter is! And she looks A LOT like her new Mom! 

New Letters from the Kids!

We just received some new letters from Yulia and Gena. This time they wrote both to Glen and Cyndy AND to Nathan! He is SO EXCITED! You should see him. He can't wait to write back to them!

Yulia is such a good writer. We learn in this letter that she wants to be a lawyer! It is amazing how God is knitting our hearts together. We're feeling proud of her already, AND WE HAVEN'T EVEN MET HER!

And Gena speaks more and we learn he has a sense of humor! He also wants to learn to drive (OHMYGOD!). Can't wait!

We're Going to Russia!

We have booked our tickets to go to Russia to meet Yulia and Gena! We're going March 31st and should be able to be with the kids by April 3rd! Yea!!!!

In the mean time, we are working on getting our home study done. We have signed a contract with God's Families International Adoption Services to do the home study and are working on completing our part of the dossier. Please pray for timing and resources. Things could get a little tight in the coming weeks as we try to hurry up the process.

We are hoping that a way can be found to by-pass the six-month waiting period before adoption can take place. Pray that a way will be found.

Clarks Court Date Set!

Scott and Terisa Clark have their court date! The judge set the date before she left on vacation, so they will officially become the parents of Oksana, Marina and Elena on March 30th! Praise God!

So now we are busily trying to figure out when we will be going to Russia to meet and spend time with Yulia and Gena. We cannot spend the whole 2 weeks plus that the Clarks are there, so we are trying to figure out what part of that time we will be there. So please pray with us for guidance and wisdom.

But we are definitely going! Stay tuned for more details!

New Letter from Yulia

We have a another new letter from Yulia! It is posted on our website (www.haworthfamily.net).

Also, our friends Scott and Terisa Clark have received their court date in Penza. It is March 30th! So things are falling into place for our trip with them to Russia. We just now have to consider when we would leave and how long we would stay in Russia with them. We cannot stay the whole time they would be there (a little over 2 weeks). So pray with us for God's wisdom in this!

Further Delay

We received word that the judge who handles adoption requests for IGAA is going on vacation. And for Russians, vacation is "always" a month!

What this means is that Scott and Terisa Clark's adoption court date will be delayed at least another month. The judge will have to return from vacation before the court date can be set. So we will not know when we are going to Russia until the middle of March at the earliest.

The only possible alternative scenario is that the court clerk MAY assign the case to another judge. This is unlikely, we are told.

So, please keep praying for God's timing and for our patience. We are really anxious to go see Yulia and Gena! And we are heartbroken that we cannot see them for at least another month.

In the mean time, we are working over-time to complete our dossier and get our home study done. If we are able to hand-carry our dossier to Russia when we go, it will help to expedite the adoption. So pray that we can complete it, and pray that the resources will come in to cover the costs of filing the dossier (about $4000).

Trip Postponed

Our trip to Russia had to be postponed today (Feb. 1st). On the eve of our departure, Scott and Terisa Clark (our friends who are also adopting from Russia and with whom we were going to travel to Russia) received word that their adoption has been approved by the Russian government and will be going to bring their three girls home with them later this month. Consequently, we are postponing our trip so that we can go with them to meet our kids and bring their girls home.

So, please pray. It is hard to put off going to meet Yulia and Gena! We have received several new letters and a video of them (posted at our website, www.haworthfamily.net). Pray for God's timing in all of this!
